Frequently asked questions.

Where will the Photography Session take place?

Usually the session will take place in the Quantock Hills in Somerset - I have a few good spots I like to recommend, and we tend to make a decision on the location based on two factors: your dogs needs and your preference. If you would like a location within Somerset that I’m not familiar with, I will scout the area and let you know if it will work or not before we make a decision.

What if the weather forecast is bad for the session?

As we know, the British weather is highly unpredictable, so although your session will be booked in for a certain date, we may have to reschedule. I will make the final decision the day before the session, and it may be that there’s a better time of day than what we had planned, in which case I may ask if you’re available for another time that day. If not, it’s no problem and we will move your session to the next available date. I’ve rarely had to do this, and we can continue in most weather circumstances - for example, light rain is fine for the camera and can make some lovely moody images, it completely depends on your preferences and whether you’d mind a wet looking dog!

My dog doesn’t know how to stay - is this okay?

Absolutely! Your dog can be on the lead for the entire session if necessary, and I will remove you, the lead and collar in re-touching.

My dog is really high energy and I’m worried they’ll be difficult to handle, should I still book a Photography Session?

Of course! Everyone deserves to have beautiful images of their best friends, and there’s no need to worry, I have many different techniques I employ to get those wonderful images, and it’s all about keeping the session enjoyable for everyone, an excitable dog just means they’re having fun!

Do I need to bring anything to the session?

Plenty of treats is a must. We use positive re-inforcement in order to ask your dog to do what we want, and for that they need plenty of rewards. If your dog isn’t interested in food when out and about, a favourite toy can be the best reward for them.

Can you take some images of my dog and I together?

Yes, these are some of my favourite images to capture, so if you want, I always include a couple. I love to highlight the special bond between a dog and their owner.
